Of course this is assuming that they didn't hide stuff by setting it to private.
Well I kinda did know this before, but the issue is that it only shows their completed badges. Usually most friends who have compelted, leave it at lvl1 with no spare collected.
And where a game shows which friends completed the badge, it won't show the trading cards missing of the ones that haven't crafted it yet. (which you might own). It only shows which ones they own that you're missing, coming mostly from those that did not complete the badge yet.
There may be tools at third party websites like SteamCardExchange that could scan your friends inventories to help with the process, but I don’t use the sites myself so I wouldn’t know. Maybe ask any traders on your friends list to see if they know of anything?
I have never even seen that option. Of course I only go looking for card trades during sales and events. >_> and here i've been trying to compare lists. lol.
