How long does it take for a report for harassment to work?
I started a thread on Turok 2 discussions to ask about a good strategy to get the achievement for getting two different enemies to fight each other and somehow I attracted the attention of a Steam user who continues to harass me. I've reported all of his comments and replies and since then he continues to post and antagonize me on my Turok 2 thread and I just want some quiet. How long does a report take because he's exhausting me physically and emotionally. I've blocked him but he still keeps coming back. I need peace.

No, you shouldn't name names

Don't name names. There's no set time for reports to work, the user will get banned when they do. I saw your thread, don't keep replying to that user, just block report and ignore, replying is just playing into their hands.

Just as a note, threads are public. No one owns them.

The mantra is (and it seems you've done what you can) "report, block and move on." The important part it sounds like you're having an issue with is that you keep looking at the replies in the thread, despite having the user in question blocked.

Don't engage. It only gives a person who's harassing you what they're after.

I can't help it though. Obsessive Compulsions. They're tough to fight.

Any compulsive responses you make, decrease the impact of your report.

This, you yourself can also get punished for responding back in SOME cases.

Yeah, the rules apply to everyone. One doesn't get a pass because they were egged on into saying something out-of-line.

I'd never be egged into saying anything violent or inappropriate. I just want to be left in peace.

This could be avoided if you ignored that one comment.
