i can not appear offline? help please

i try to appear offline but it does not work and when i log back into steam im back as invisible which is not what i want, does any one know how to appear offline with out it reverting to invisible every time i re log in, its driving me nuts, one of my friends has been offline for 41 days with appearing offline even tho he plays dailys, my profile just shows online constantly or last online like 3 hours ago, its never gone over 1 day offline, is this a bug or something i can fix

"Invisible" is the correct setting.
It clearly states "Invisible- APPEAR offline to friends but you can still chat if you want".
If you are set to Invisible for friends it will show Offline.

Thats it. Apart from that you can just completely sign out of the chat.

invisible is not the correct setting tho, if i copy and paste the url link from my profile when im on it, paste it into an incognito chrome window, it is still showing im online....... what does my profile show for u then?

Select 'invisible', logout and when you log back in the next time, you will remain invisible.

Just set myself to "invisible" 5 minutes ago to test and profile shows i am offline.

right ive just set myself to invisible, logged out and i will keep an eye, will my time of being offline be effected by the mobile steam app tho?

You are logged into the mobile app too? If so, there is a years old bug that makes you appear online hours after you go offline with it.

If you are logged into the mobile app and are connected to the internet on your phone you will appear online.

i am yes as i use the app at work to browse discussions, crap thats what has been doing my head in over this then, the steam app is effecting it

bummer that is, not much can be done i would think then

Eveytime you log into the app, it defaults online. You have to manually set it offline next to the settings in the app.

But as I said, there is an old bug that may have you persist as online hours afterwards.

Re-Install the Steam and do a Router on-off. That should solve it.
