Diablo 3 Question

im planning on Buying Diablo 3 soon, but noticed... that there are 2 titles that arent Dlcs and im not rlly sure what i need to buy to get the Full Expierience, so i wantet to ask what you guys would say , whats the difference between
Diablo 3, and
Diablo 3 Reaper of souls
if it isnt a Dlc? i mean it costs the same price , welp i got no idea pls Explain

i just noticed, theres a battle chest that contains both games, so that means they are Different Games?

Diablo 3 + Reaper of Souls is the whole game.
The only other additional DLC is the Necromancer , a new class to play but its not essential.

So i should buy Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls + the Dlc?

but then why is there a Battle Chest that sells both games?

Reaper of Souls is an add-on, adding a lot more content to the game. It is not standalone.

Because Battlechests were Blizzard's thing before DLC was a thing.

Basically while other places do GOTY Editions Blizzard does BattleCHests.

Reaper of Souls is an expantion. By all accounts, it is basicaly a large DLC that requires the base game of Diablo 3 to play.

Expantions existed before the term DLC ever did.
