Content Rules
Do not post any content on Steam containing the following:

Porn, inappropriate or offensive content, warez or leaked content or anything else not safe for work
Any discussion of piracy will result in a permanent ban from the Steam Community including, but not limited to:
Cracks
Key generators
Console emulators
Cheating, hacking, game exploits
Threats of violence or harassment, even as a joke
Posted copyright material such as magazine scans
Soliciting, begging, auctioning, raffling, selling, advertising, referrals
Racism, discrimination
Abusive language, including swearing
Drugs and alcohol
Religious, political, and other “prone to huge arguments” threads

I'm pointing out 1 rule and this should be across the steam network forums for "Games" and so on.

We have a small team of Recruiters they make "Recruiting Posts" to get people to come join our Multi Gaming Community. Now with that being said it does not fall under the rules and or against the terms of content or terms of service that steam has.

Recruiting - Is to help build and grow a healthy community and to have a diverse group of people to join in and have fun.

Advertisement - Is to sell you something or charge you for a service.

I'm getting upset with the fact is people are falsely reporting our "Recruitment Posts" as Advertisment and the Moderators seemlessly remove them. I think each moderator and steam staff member is responsible for upholding the content nature on the networks of forums making sure all new "Moderators" or "Game Developer Moderators" follow the Steam Guidelines.

It's really frusterating when this is becoming a constant issue when people "Bash/Flame" on our recruitment posts and we report it but nothing happens... But one false report for Advertisment boom post gone.

Sincerely,

VSG_UCJOHN

Its always amusing when rule lawyers come out to claim their patently obvious violations of the rules are not violations

1) recruiting is spam
2) recruiting is advertising
3) recruiting is referring

Stop

1) spamming
2) advertising
3) referring

advertising:
1 : the action of calling something to the attention of the public especially by paid announcements

Advertising does not have to be paid or to sell something. It is also "calling something to the attention of the public", such as a group that is recruiting.

Such posts are considered advertising on Steam.

I suggest making such posts in sub-forums that allow for it and are related to the games that you play. Anywhere else has the possibility of being delete, whith the user warned or banned if previously warned.

Recruiting isn't Advertising I think you need to learn the definition between the two.
Recruiting isn't spam.
Recruiting Definition:
enroll (someone) as a member or worker in an organization or as a supporter of a cause.

Advertising Defintion:
the activity or profession of producing advertisements for commercial products or services.
Also known as spam and phinishing.

We are recruiting which is not against Steam TOS or Guidelines. I'm not selling you a product.

Well then steam should really bring that to light and update there Guidelines and Terms of Service. But steam is for growth of "Gaming Communities" if we aren't allowed to recruit gamers or such nature on the forums then the gaming industry would die off and gaming communities that buy games from steam wouldn't be around.

The rules are clear and this is how it has always been since I have been on Steam. I even linked the actualy definition of advertising to you.

I also stated where you can make such posts.

Think of how many "Gaming Communities" there are out there. Steam alone has over 4 million groups. There are less then 25k forums on Steam. If such posts were allowed, the forums would be filled with nothing but advertising for everyone's own "Gaming Community".

All falsely reported for Advertisment which that is not advertising, you should all know the difference between recruiting and advertising.

As I said I'm not spamming and I'm not Advertising I'm not trying to sell you a box of cookies, I'm recruiting for a healthy gaming community which is not against Steam Guidelines or TOS.

Recruiting is Recruiting

Advertising is Advertising

They are the SAME

Recruiting is advertising. You are advertising a service. A service to your group. That's advertising.

As I said I'm not spamming

Same post posted in multiple independent gaming hubs

This is spam

Anyway enjoy your future community bans since you want to magically think the rules dont apply to you.

It’s not feasible to list every single nuance in the rules. However we can clarify the rules here.

Adding No "Recruiting" to the content Rules isn't really that hard to be added.

Its not that hard to understand recruiting is advertising

And again you already don't think this is spamming. If you're going to rules lawyer away around the rules, clarifications are pointless since you dont actually want them

Recruiting falls under advertising, as has already been said. There is no need for a separate entry.

Nothing of what we are doing on our post is spamming, simply when someone says something along the lines of "anyone wanna play?" they delete their last message before they ask again.
Please show us what parts are being considered as spam.
Matt Aug 6, 2018 @ 10:21am
Recruiting threads aren’t allowed. That’s really all that needs to be said. Any additional questions?

See this? Spam. What do these also have in common

Only half of these spam posts were in appropriate 'looking for group' type of discussion. Your group is indiscrimantly spamming everywhere

https://steamcommunity.com/id/UntoxifiedLemur/posthistory/

Oh look bump spamming your own advertising

Your entire group should be banned for cross spamming entire game hubs, and then using yoru own accounts to bump spam these posts
