Invisible CD Key!!!
Guys, I'm so STRESSED right now! There's no CD link in the "links" section, CD key doesn't display even when I press play after installing it. Is there another way to view my CD key from the product I PURCHASED? This is happening for all of my total war games.

Unless the key is need for some third party registration you will not be able to see any. And even then it's not the Steam key?

Why?
To prevent people buying games with stolen credit cards, writing down the keys, issue a chargeback and selling the key on G2A and its ilk.

Not all games will give you the cd-key like that as they are not required when you buy them directly from steam.

Either when you first start the game it will show it or go to your game library and right click the game and see if it has the option to show it or it won't show you it at all for most games.

If it was purchased from another site then it's that sites problem to provide you it.

So, if the game doesn't show the option to show its CD Key and there's no other way to view CD key? When I was looking for the CD key for my battfield 1, EA service provided it for me.

What is a CD Key used for after it is registered?
After the key is registered to your Steam account, it acts as proof of purchase for the game as well as proof of ownership for your Steam account. Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. Please note that digital keys that are not part of a game's physical packaging cannot be used as proof of account ownership. It is recommended that you keep your key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

I could be mistaken from reading this, but it seems that steam won't provide the cd of a non-digital copy of the game, at least judging from the portion stating to keep the key safe, which would indicate that very key won't be provided in steam itself. If you don't have the actual key that came with the package, or have it written down, then you have no proof of ownership. Again, i could be wrong, but that's what it seems like.

Ah ok, then that means the game simply may have not came with any extra cd keys. I don't have many games myself that provide the key, but again that is only with some of my games, not all.
