Been asked for before, most people don't want them. Try using the search next time for a topic on it already.

Yeah no, i can live without going to some random profile and getting an epileptic seizure because some joker make a gif of some eyecancer lightning effect.
And we all know that this would happen.

Apart from all the porn,gore and what else we would be flooded with.

The artwork seizure crap is more than enough. I don't have to look at that as it is usually far enough down the page to not see it.

We have animated avatars made by the game devs and stuff. That is enough.

Well it was like a 50/50 and I'm happy with the implementation of gifs and how they did the system. Lets anyone have gif avatars that wants them without being being annoying and always animated but needs to hover over them to see them move on the forums (hope there will be a universal option to stop animations on profile too that don't want them).
