EDIT: Your edit seemed to basically answer the question in full, assuming its accurate, not sure if thats a moderator with a white highlighted name, or where they get their info from. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
thanks
How did Valve contact you? Did they message you over Steam chat? Did you think they were scammers at first trying to hijack your account and steal all your sweet CSGO skins?
I can imagine that now.
“An employee of Valve messaged me on Steam and asked me if I want to be a moderator on the forums.”
“They are scammers. Report, block, and move on.”
I know the older moderators that were asked where send a PM on vBulletin (the old forums), where it was easy to see if someone was official - just like here, names were colored.
That said, if you get an official Steam messages (either through Support, or a moderator message, or even an official PM) it's a lot different than what you would get from a scammer, that would be normal chat.
I've send you a PM to demonstrate.
I remember the old forums and definitely wish they were still around. Although, the game section would be so incredibly enormous by this point.
They have to meet on a secret Island where they undergo rigorous selection processes and secret rituals.
a community mod unjustly locked a I made. Then instantly banned me when i tried posting it again after corrected the alleged problems it had.
And when I contacted him via steam support I only got automated messeges
You mean the thread you started name calling another user. Be them troll or not that’s against the rules as is reposting closed topics.
So how is the community mod not doing a good job if there enforcing the rules?
This isnt a rhetoric or meant to insult, I honestly want to know why you spend so much time and effort doing this.
