Purchased Digital Download From GameStop, Key Invalid...Steam "Tips" Not Working

Pretty much what the title says, I got my key from gamestop (16 digits) and keeps saying invalid.

Yes I read the FAQs and contacted gamestop but really though?

make sure you are entering it correctly. people mistake 8 and B, 1 and I, 0 and O

Yea, I have copied what they sent me and pasted.

Make sure you only copy the code and not extra spaces along with it.

If you still have issues, contact Gamestop for assistance.

Steam keys are generaly 15 digits. There are some 20 and 17s around, but in general it's 15. You can see the eligible patterns in the key activation screen.

Whatever key you got, it is not for Steam.

Just checked all my more recent activiations and wallet codes and they are all 15 digit. What game was this for and are you sure it's a Steam key and not for another platform?

Got it off GameStop. Was a bundle for GTA V.

If it's the PC version, it's probably a Rockstar Socialclub code. Only the Steam distriubted version requires Steam.

Q: GTA V - Digital Copy. If I purchase the digital version of this, do I get a steam key or a Rockstar Key? Because above it states "Requires Steam Client to Install and Play", so I'm curious.
A: It is NOT a Steam version. The description is misleading. You will not get a Steam key. I'm currently on hold in an 18 minute call to Gamestop trying to get a refund. Don't buy.

I only went as far as the false specs on the page. I got bored because I knew it was incorrectly listed there and that it was a Rockstar key.
