I message people they say there busy so I leave the message ask them did u get it they say “non” so I have to type it out a agin when u could just leave a comment on their profile

I’m in a really bad mood cos I get banned and blocked by people for the slightest reason like being annoying or posting a question

I don't see a point in having friends on Steam and keep only one or two real-life people i know. I used to keep a large friend list but got irritated that none of them seemed to ever want to play games or even communicate with me. So, I decided to only keep the real friends in my list.

The reason I got so many friends myself is because a while ago I was a trader but now I stopped trading but couldn’t be bothered to unfriend all of em

Indeed, I never talk to most of my friends in the past so I just removed them. I had nothing in common to talk to those guys about so there's no point keeping them around. The friends on my friends list are people are actually play with and/or I know them in real life.

I have some people on Steam i met in games amd i sometimes play with them. Thats IMHO the one and only point: To play games with those people.

I've yet to play a game with any of the friends on my list, but most of them are alive on the Activities section, and it's a blast talking with them in the same way you text message people (just say your piece, get some laughs and continue with what you were doing). IDK, I know some don't like being PM'ed (I sure as hell don't unless it's brief) but always welcome messages you can read when you got time.

Yeh you see that my problem I ask them something when they are online they don’t respond so I say things like

Ummm....
U there
Hello?
Dude?
Pls
It’s says your online so why aren’t u answering
Ahh c’mon man

That seems to trigger a lot of people so I end up getting unfriended or blocked they even go as far as to perma bam me from the steam group what next they will ban me from the server they better not

I dunno about you but whenever someone pops up a message to me, I ALWAYS respond. I think ignoring friends is mean so I don't do it. Having steam friends is nice, better than being lonely...

Let me explain there are people who don't talk much, they will play with you but don't talk much, their not anti-social, they just don't know what how should they talk to you.
I've been in your situation before and it well... it annoyed my friends till they mute me and like completely ignore me, blocked me, banned me.
It is just the way we talk, doesn't seems nice to them, on which how you describe it.

(Ummm....

In truth they are just busy and too lazy to put up that busy tag. or they just went out for a qiuck smoke or grabbing a beer or answering mother natures call, or having some house family problems.
Final if they don't respond just ask these words (are you busy? if you are busy can we talk later?)
And don't bore them either, i kinda bore a little girl about talking politics, because i have no one else to talk to about politics and she just ignore me now.

Thanks for the tips I think I annoy people a lot since I am quit impatient and when I see they are online and not responding I just thought they didn’t get the message so I ask if they are there

Well at least I know next time before I go friending some random admins to discuss their update

Having "friends" in any social media is a problem in itself. They only allow "strangers" and "friends". There are no "aquaintances" or "random person, that asked me for the time of day" categories.

It's not usable for myself. So I do not invite "friends" at all. Friends have to be people I know. That I have played with in an MMO, or guild members from a game, that I know over a period of time.

Not totally strangers, who sent me an invite, without even bothering to add an comment. So "friends " in any social media is a terrible retarded concept.
I use most of my friend list to get game recommendations. Most of them are rich (proven by their high levels) and have a massive game list, and I just browse my activity feed to check the screenshots and see if there are any interesting games. Found a few gems this way, I never would have known those games existed if not for my friends sharing their screenshots.
:teddy_talk: That depends OP

I log onto Steam to check messages and look at my activity feed.
I had a few people that would private message me as soon as I came online, they immediately messaged me
..and I responded, "Hi, going through my messages and activity feed, I've only got a few minutes to do so, I hope your doing well and have a good day"

They would continue to ask me about my messages, "who is pm'ing you and what about?" and "what do you look for when looking at your activity feed?" "Why haven't you rated up my uploads?" and "how is your day going, I'm doing this-n-that and plan on this-n-that and so, what are you going to do today, this week, this month?"

I can be polite and engage, I will do this and also add, "I only have a few minutes to read my messages and see what's up in my activity feed, give me a moment." and even then, they continue to message me as though I'm obligated to converse with them for an hour or so.
In the end, they unfriend me as being unfriendly :D

On occasions with other people, I've sent them a private message "Have a great week :-)" - once.
Then Boom! I get unfriended :D

It's an optional feature, OP.
So use it or don't use it. Many people use it for many reasons, I think for you; you'd like an active dialogue, for others they simply "friend collect" and others only add their RL friends and family. So there is no one reason why this "friend" feature exists, other than it does and it's optional.

I have very few Steam "friends." Most are from other game forums, the rest from a Steam group. No, I don't want more "friends," don't feel sorry for me (or anyone) having so few then send me a dozen friend requests, lol, I'm picky. Random people collectors need not even bother.
I'm the same with Facebook. Unlike my sister I don't need to have 300 "friends" (friends is the wrong word, as someone else pointed out). On FB I have less than here on Steam, but, I don't care.
I don't even talk to all of them. One sometimes. The others are handy for finding new games from their screenshots, key drops, reviews, etc.

Everyone's different. Some people log in, play games, then leave. Then there are some people who want to chat all day every day. I had to remove one guy as he wanted to do just that and it annoyed me. Nothing worse than, "Hello? Are you still there? ? ?" Every ten seconds. Ugh. :steamfacepalm:
