I require help on a matter regarding an item duplication trade problem. I had a long conversation with another steam user and (possible) community service member.

He was nice and helpful about the situation but I was still a little un-easy about the whole thing, I've had my account stolen in the past and since then I've been a little fishy about people who I'm told to contact regarding anything that has to do with my account.

Anyways, here's the entire conversation.

Valve doesn't restore (aka dupe) items anymore since late 2015, also "Valve admins" isn't such a thing.

We do know how close you were. There's people here every day complaining after they fell for that scam. At least your spidey senses were tingling... you're not a lost cause like some of the folks who post here after being scammed multiple times.

From now on, don't let threats or pressure stress you out and just use common sense. In this case, why would you have to trade your items so Valve could find out if they are legit? If valve wanted to take your items, they'd just take them. If valve wanted to ban you, they'd ban you... you wouldn't be threatened beforehand.

Thanks for the info, I'll remember not to stress stuff like this anymore and I encourage anyone who's read this contact this person and let him no he's ben found out, if it's possible to report him do so.
