1. Report
2. Ignore
3. Move on
The last 2 are very important.
The more you feed, the more he will come.
As soon as someone starts being toxic on your thread don't engage send a report let the hubs developers and moderators take care of it, if you engage and be hostile back this will simply escalate the situation and make it worse for everyone.
You are not told if other actions were taken on another's account, so you can't say one way or another that nothing was done. For all anyone knows, more warnings were given out then just yours.
These are public forums and anything posted in them are open to the public. Someone can be the original poster of a thread, but no one owns the thread except Valve.
On a lot of forums I seriously doubt all people are held to the same standard.
I could address every post on here individually but really whats the point. The thing about the internet is it brings together people that in real life would have nothing to do with one another and there is probably a very good reason for that.
Its easy to type anything on here because you don't have to face the consequences of how you post something so I guess it is a good thing they are finally trying to regulate the internet; in the west at least.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a fine example of why nothing gets better if everyone is just doing 2 and 3. Everyone should be held accountable for their remarks otherwise it justs creates a toxic environment.
The truth is you never know who has posted something or what is going on in their lives so everyone whenever they post something on someone elses thread should think a moment before they do it as who knows what impact it may have on their life.
But you are still posting to that specific user after you report them. You are creating an issue and prolonging it. Letting that user know you are mad and thus giving him the need to come at you more cause he knows you will still reply and argue with him.
Don't feed the trolls.
