[update: 18/02/2021] Added a bunch of new games to the RPG lists. See the comment of the same day to see which games are new. Enjoy!

[update: 23/12/2018] Added a bunch of new games to the lists, sorted the lists alphabetically. (Both on this thread and the other one) Also made a new thread for a list of stealth and sniper games.

[update: 06/06/2018] I went on a lengthy search through the internet and updated this list and the one about isometric RPG's. If you notice any mistakes or have any more suggestions, feel free to let me know.

I'm trying to find more open-world and linear western RPG’s and in the process help anyone looking for those as well by listing the ones I already know about. This should also help you give an idea of what I’m looking for. Please feel free to post any game you know about that is at the very least decent. It doesn’t matter if they’re on steam or not, games on other platforms or consoles are fine as well. I will try to keep this list updated with all the new games you guys tell me about.

Every store page has a (more or less useful) "Games like this" section right above the reviews. You can also just use a tag-based search:

I've done searches like that and used the "Games like this" section :) but I have a feeling that I'm still missing out on some games that are a bit harder to find, that's why I made this thread. Thanks for the tip though ^^

If anyone hasn't tried the KOTOR (Knights of the Old Republic) series before, drop everything and play them. They're easily two of the best games I've ever played, and they are cornerstones of any Star Wars lovers' Steam Library.

Don't just take my word for it, though. KOTOR 1 has a 9.6/10 rating on imdb, and KOTOR 2 has a 8.9/10.

I'm going to make a completely different thread for isometric RPG's Natshely but thank you for suggesting them. Elex is something I won't be adding to my list for now, at least until it's not as buggy. I almost forgot about Kingdom come Deliverance though, thanks for reminding me!

Thanks :) it does look interesting. The name sounds very familiar, I think I played it once but it doesn't seem to be in my steam library. Anyway I never got far in it from what i remember but I will definitely try it again.

They're basically made by former Diablo staff I think? Correct me if I'm wrong. At the very least I hear they show clear inspiration from Diablo.
