I'm looking for a very specific game, does it exists?

Hello Everyone,

I'm hoping that with the help of the Steam community I will be able to find the game I have been waiting for. I want to play this very specific game for almost 8 years now and haven't really found anything that comes close to it (80% and above).

so let's cut to the chase, shall we.

I'm looking for an MMORPG or a singleplayer game with a mmorpg vibe (gameplay style) that is the same as all those open world mmorpg with fatast style, dungeons, doing quests, getting better gear, buying a home, furnishing your home, getting awesome looking gear or just use a costume system to look good, with the option to dye your gear aswell. you know what im talking about.. I'm looking for that.. BUT WITH A TWIST..

I want it to be a shooter! I want it to be a current time, modern time or sci-fi themed game where I can have the same things as mentioned above. I want to do quest, run and gun, get new weapons, buy them from shops, put attachments on them and do some dungeons etc.

It doesn't matter if it's 3rd person or 1st person but I just want an open world shooter with housing, dungeons, a good story, LOTS of customization options etc. Think World of Warcraft, Elder scrolls online or black desert but with guns (and action/aiming based).

And please.. It has to thick all the boxes or be at least 80% (or higher) to what im looking for.
games like:
- Destiny 1 or 2
- The Division 1 or 2
- Wildlands
- Planetside 2
- Borderlands 1 and 2
Are not what I'm looking for (I own them and have tried them), so please don't mention games like that. Reason: they are not RPG enough. No deep character customization, no "build your own role/playstyle" style gameplay that you always get from those medieval MMORPGS.

I tried Fatal Bullet because I REALLY love the concept of the Anime but that game is just sooo boring and nothing like the feeling you have from the anime. It's a talking simulator with short burst of clunky shooting.

I want to travel the ingame world (open world or zonebased like WoW), go from city to city and planet to planet. talking to NPC's and getting quests. Get some money and go to the weaponshop (no micro-trans ♥♥♥♥) and buy my weapons, upgrading them and then put some attachments on them and go do some dungeon clearing for a nice ornament (boss head) to place in my base.

So.... Does this game exist?
It doesn't have to be an MMO, it can also be a single-player game that gives the same gameplay feel of an MMORPG. It's not about playing with others but just being in a game that feels wide and open and diverse with hours and hours of content. making your base and putting furniture in it, doing quests for money and xp, getting an awesome build together and doing boss runs, looking the way YOU want to look, with a deep character creation system.

I really don't understand why (if the game isn't made yet) why it has never been made, It's freakn 2019! I can not be the only person on the planet that wants to play a game like this. I like MMORPG's but I'm kinda sick of the fact they are ALWAYS fantasy based with swords and shields and magic and bows...

Did I missed something, does this game exists??
Please let me know, I need this game in my life!

yes you are right, I didn't get far into the game. Like I said earlier the gameplay is not what im looking for. the things I mentioned in multiple messages in this discussion and the things you tell me about warframe do not align. they are totally different games.

"What you are asking for are the type of stats you would see in a turnbased rpg, not in a looter shooter." YES, I know, Im not looking for a looter shooter.. I mentioned multiple times that im looking for an open world, modern/sci-fi, action shooter game LIKE those mmorpgs that always come in fantasy themes..

again, I have tried warframe, but indeed not for long because it is not what im looking for, for me warframe is not fun. characters to constricted, too boring (4 main powers I believe per wareframe), look is tied to those powers, everything is fast paced like you are in a hurry or something. I can show you a thousand+ youtube videos of a thousand+ people playing all running and hopping and twirling in the air and across the map like there is a timer on their table.

warframe is not what im asking for.. It does not have what im looking for.. Saying a system in warframe is like what im looking for (gadgets == companions) is just trying to make apples into potatos.

I appreciate that you are spending time to write your replies and let me know more about warframe but it's just a moot effort, I'm sorry. If you would carefully read all my messages with examples etc. you would realise that warframe is not the game I want.

warframe is like destiny and other looter shooters. im not looking for those type of games otherwise I didnt need to write this discussion.

I can not think of a single game that meets all your criteria. The only games that are close that I can name fall into the 'looter shooter' category or 'fantasy mmo that have a gunner type class'. Neither of these fit with your entire list though.

it doesn't have that. it's very unique in its feel, and its quite far from feeling like an MMO even though it shares a lot of similarities with the genre

Revalopod is right, I think he/she understands it better then you do. I am not looking for a looter shooter and like I said multiple times, warframe is different then other games, it has a totally other feel to it then others in it's genres BUT ITS NOT a traditional mmorpg type game but with guns, it's just not, nor is it a RPG style game. warframe is all about fast paced action in instance based maps to get better loot and materials so you can move on the a higher difficulty planet/map. that is like a million miles off from what I was looking for and explained in my messages

it's a looter shooter, fast paced, no real housing stuff (coloring your ship is NOT housing) and the the entire feel/vibe of the game is not what i have been describing at all.

If you have watched the anime Sword art online and it's sequal Gun gale online then you might understand what I'm talking about. anyway, nevermind.

Just consider this discussion closed.. I am really not interested in having a discussion with you about warframe and the 1000 times I must mention it is not what i have been describing in the slightest.

Do any of the mass effect games fit the criteria? I was thinking specifically Mass Effect: Andromeda. I know that one has a bad rep and has had bad reviews, but it does allow for a lot more exploring than the earlier ones.

unfortunatly I own them all on origin and have played them already. They where good and even though andromeda got a bad rep I did enjoy the game not the less (except the mouse pointer bug).

Beside the fact that I have played it, it doesn't really fit the description. I have tried so many games already that have bits of what im looking for. I was kinda hoping that after all these years maybe this game has been made.. maybe japanese or something, I dont care haha, as long as I can play a game like this..

Well, All I can do now is just hoping that Cyberpunk will thick most of the boxes. I'm afraid that in my lifetime I wont see a game that will have it all, unless I somehow become a millionair and can buy/rent my own game development studio

Hearing your descriptions is making me want that game now too! It does sound like Cyberpunk is the best shot, and maybe The Outer Worlds (stupid Epic exclusivity).

Until then one last place you might try is mods. I don't know of one offhand, but I think the Mount & Blade games fill a lot of those requirements. They're medieval but the modding communities are HUGE, and there are some total conversions with guns and even sci-fi settings.

sorry that I pulled you in the abyss too haha... It does sound cool huh, I have been waiting for this game almost 9 years. I had a talk back then with some friends who where heavy gamers back then. They where talking about their favorite games back then (I was around 23 at the time) and then they asked me. I told them that my favorite game doesn't exists unless I'm sleeping.

So I told them about what game would be my favorite. And.. well.. They came up with alternatives too back then, which most of them I already owned and played. But when I explained to them that their suggestions where not the same thing, they started to see and believe too.. They wanted that game now aswell.. I still talk to some of them from time to time and 1 that I know of is still waiting too haha..

To me it seems like a very cool idea and could really be a goldmine if done right. If they (the ones who would ever make it) mix the right amount of games together they could really pull it off.
Big open world with npcs walking everywhere. Some are friendly while other are npc "players" that are running and gunning in the open world too. You can go anywhere do any quest you want. Make any kind of build you ever dreamed of in a "world with guns"type setting.

Oh man.... I could go on and on about this game.. So stupid this game has never been made before. The bigger development studios can surely pull this game off. But anyway, It doesn't exists, yet...

maybe I get lucky and inherit or win a few million.. one thing fur sure is that I will make this game a reality first. I will earn back what I spend anyway with this hole in the gaming market, haha.
