In my opinion it's very simple.... Steam is a platform shared by many different people from dozens of countries and with dozens of different habits and of all ages. As such it shouldn't be too hard to keep in mind that your outings on this platform don't solely evolve around you; you also have to keep the other players into mind.

That holds true for forum postings, while writing guides and when adding stuff to your profile.

Sometimes it's not fun to get confronted with that but as I said: this doesn't only evolve around yourself, you have to keep other people's interests into mind as well. I don't see the problem with that to be honest.

Censorship? Of course. We're in Valves house here so obviously they have every right to make up the rules. If you don't like that then the solution is simple: find another platform to express yourself.

The forums are supposed to be welcome to all people, not making certain ones feel uncomfortable for existing. Steam is first and foremost, a store...and like all stores, need to keep up an image...and honestly, who the hell's going to shop at a store that allows any kind of hate speech?

Technically speaking you can upload anything you want. However, that doesn't mean it'll stay online forever, especially when players take offense to it and report it.
