Can you get banned for using copyrighted images

If the owner files a copyright claim, the picture will be removed and you'll likely get a short ban rendering you unable to upload a new picture for a while.

If you keep uploading copyrighted pictures, especially if it's the same picture, and the claims keep coming, such a ban could become permanent.

when you get banned for a copyright picture, you don't get banned from steam rgiht? I can still play all my games and stuff? I just can't upload any other images on wallpaper engine right?

Someone who seriously makes someone's life difficult because somebody uses one of his pictures on his game platform profile (not even art related) and doesn't even pretend that it's his own has really serious problems in his life and should urgently reconsider his priorities.

Wallpaper engine got nothing to do with profile pictures. Now what happens is that your peofile image gets nuked, but thats about it.

It depends n the copyright holder really. If they file a take down request they will remove the related media. If you try to repost or circumvent that removal, then you might get banned.

Not sure entirely about images, but I think anything that is workshop related can be DMCA'd if the holder is willing to proceed through the process. I assume profile pictures are fine, just any content or material posted to the community workshop can be taken down for copyright infringement.

Anything you put on the internet without having the rights to it can be DMCA'd. It doesn't matter whether it's images, sounds or movies. It doesn't matter whether it's as avatars, workshop contentor youtube videos.

Wasthere a reason to add this misleading comment?
