Racing Wheel Logitech G920 not detected In Steam Software?

Both the “Logitech Software” and “Windows 10” detects the G920 Wheel.

However the “Steam Software/Client” and any of the games listed below that’s installed in the Steam Software/Client can detect the G920 Wheel

F1 2015

Project Cars

Dirt Rally

Eurotruck Simulator 2

American Truck Simulator


I've contacted both Logitech ans Steam support, and they both suggested posting here.

Does the Controller section of Steam Big Picture recognize your G920? Do you have GeForce Experience installed. That can interfere (maybe something related to Nvidia Shield), but I have not looked into specific details because I only briefly used my G29 in Win7 to test it. It worked when I uninstalled GeForce Experience, but I think there is some way to diactivate something in GeForce Experience to allow it to remain.

I use a G29 in Linux mostly similar to G920. The G29 was not recognized by Linux DiRT Rally unless I first set it to an alternate mode as G27 (which I do with a script). Then everything worked in DiRT Rally and GRID Autosport including force feedback.

In Linux ETS2 or ATS (my other Steam acct) my G29 was automatically recognized as a G29, and everything works except no force feedback at all. That is less critical in a truck than in a rally or race car.

I'm having the same issue. The wheel works great on iRacing (glad I didn't purchase that through Steam), but I get nothing from Assetto Corsa, and Project Cars 2. Both of those are through steam. Sure would like to find a fix for this.

It's best to post in that specific game's discussion.
And ask there, as other players may have encountered this issue.

There are many PC configurations and a fix may work for one person but not for the other.

Posting your Hardware's basic configuration (Pentium Pro 200, ISA Card x64, IDE HDD, $MB SIMM RAM, etc..) and relevant software (e.g. Windows 10 x64, McAfee Suite, Xbox Horizon 4 PC, etc..) kind of helps with the troubleshooting and more goodies in the suggestion box.

Plus, posting in that game's forum might attract the dev's attention and they may do a little playtesting on their own and come up with something.

Hey, anybody found a fix for this one?
G920, Hshifter, Acer Predator Helios 500, RTX3070, 32GB, i7 11k 1TB, Assetto Corsa.

Make sure you're not starting the game from steam big picture, it'll try to pass the controller config from steam if I recall right.

Also make sure the wheel is attached directly to the pc or try another extender/usb hub if using one. Some games can be picky with such.

Some games also require the g hub software to be running.

I think with this in mind you should be able to get it working anywhere, if not you probably have to look into support on the specific game instead

you will need to get yourself a 3rd party steering wheel application, you might be able to use a controller application , however i would look into pc steering wheel software apps, you will run the app in the background while you play the steam game and it will allow you to use the control/wheel/footpedals with a custom config

Just today I've been hit with this same issue with the Logitech G920, I just bought and downloaded Forza Horizon 4, And had a nightmare getting Xbox software playing nice with steam, now steam don't see my G920 as a controller, I've installed Xbox Controller Driver still Naada, I've used this wheel daily for years without as much as a fart out of place, checked and double checked every setting there is, read up on Microsoft, steam, Xbox the works and head now banging like a goodun
