Steam friends limit request

Now steam have limited friends request's for 30 friend per day. Does some1 know is it forever or they trying do invite smth new to steam about friends requests?

It was to stop the spamming of invites. Now you have a limit on the amount you can invite for friends.

Nothing is forever, but the change is intended and there is likely no reason to change the limit as it's unlikely to hinder anyone with a legit use (seeing you can send trade offers etc).

You just need to level up to get more space, like, get some cards from games, or buy some, create medals and then go like to lvl 10.

The limit and cooldown has changed in the years since this thread was created.

You are not going to like the answer...

Stop sending requests. Everytime you do, it resets the cooldown.

The cooldown varies from 1 week up to 1 month "from the last time you saw the error message." Key point in quotes. This means if you saw the message today, you have to wait a full month before you can send another. Have them add you instead.

Read this post that explains a little bit of the new restriction...

Did do so, apologies for forgetting to mention. This is what they replied with before closing the ticket abrubtly:

The duration is different for each user and can last 1 week or up to 1 month from the last time you saw the message. Please note, Steam Support is also unable to remove or modify this limit.

The cooldown has many variables for when the account gets this message. No 1 account is the same in this matter. Some will get it after 1 invite, others 30.

Sorry to necro, but were you able to see if sending another friend request during the rate limit period will cause the rate limit month window to reset?

Or new users hoping that a big friend list makes them look better (it doesn't).
