Keyboard layout issue
Hello guys,

I talked about my problem to the support team of Steam and they redirect me here, because they couldn't answer corretly to my question.

The issue is:

I have a french keyboard layout (AZERTY, for those who don't know which one I'm talking about).

But 95% of the time I have to switch my keyboard to QWERTY because the keys are not binded corretly to the french layout, I don't know why.
None of my friends have the issue, and still, they play on a french layout keyboard too.

TL;DR:
Every time I want to play a game on Steam I have to switch the keyboard layout to QWERTY because keys are not corretly binded to AZERTY layout within the games.

If you have any tip on how to fix it, please, send it !

Thanks everyone for the help tho'

Can probably use some third party key-mapping softwares to change key-profile whenever you launch Steam or something else. While I've not used it personally, Auto-Hot-Key can probably do something like that.
Or, just try a new keyboard and see if the problem still persists, if it doesn't then when you have the money for it buy it.

Borrow one of your friends keyboards to check whether it's a problem with window's settings, or inherent to the physical keyboard.

Does it happen in the same games where your friends have no problem? It's usually a game issue. Either the developer uses KeyCodes (representing physical keys) or CharCodes (representing the actual input).

@warshell: It was always like that since my first bought game on steam back in 2009.
So it's not a mechanical issue.

@cinedine: Let's take an example here. PUBG. I have to change the layout, whereas my friends who are playing on a french layout as well don't have to
