Robot Rising "Reborn."
Somebody should make a new version of Robot Rising, i miss that game so much. I'd do it myself, but i'm not a game developer or anything. I think it would do very well, even if it cost a little bit (not much,) though i think it would do best if it was Free To Play, with some cosmetics/upgrades you could pay for, like any other FTP game. And it should be done on the Steam platform, such a great community and loads of games to choose from, and tons of people using it on a regular basis, i think if Robot Rising was on Steam, it would have never died. ::)

You'd have to contact the license holders. Steam doesn't actively seek out games.

they have probably thought about that, and like i said, doesn't have to be exactly like robot rising, but something quite similar.

i am personaly trying to contact people from robot rising team (aka stompgame) but none responded. almost like they instantly died from having their game shut down

You dont need to do that. Make an own game as a spiritual successor. As long as you dont "borrow" any names or assets and stick to implementing game mechanivs, its entirely legal. And gives you creative freedom. Get Unity and get crackin'!

yeah, i can make games, but only "drag n' drop." I have no desire to learn how to code, whatsoever. I like the format of Buildbox, but i don't have the money/time to drop on it right now. Dabbled w/ it for a bit, but don't have time/money to dedicate to it just yet. Otherwise i would work on a game, though not sure if i would be able to make one as intense as Robot Rising.

In regards to the creators of Robot Rising, i looked into them, they canned Robot Rising, i heard it didn't make enough money and too many negative reviews. People complaining that it was a Pay to Win, which it wasn't in my opinion. Even their website, RobotRising.com is for sale.

The closest i've gotten to Robot Rising thus far is Dungeons & Robots on Steam, like diablo 3 but w/ robots and creatures.

I realy loved that game, (except there pity excuse of an PvP mode that was only PvE where you ran through an badly designed dungeon armed with garbage from another player (i tested this mode, told them it would kill the game and yea it did), remove that part) do your own thing, when it comes to graphics and parts of the machine. If you want an Alpha/Beta whatever tester, count me in.

Also when you have the leveleditor up, i would love to design levels, but i fear thats the only help i can offer.

Also, as one who already know how nice the game was, i would buy it for up to 10 bucks. But i think to make it FTP and offer cosmetics and maybe resources for money would be better.
I totally agree. That game was GREAT! WTF happened? Give us back our game!

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
