Is Counter Strike: Source still worth buying ?

has nothing but community servers like cs 1.6, dont waste your money on it

It still has 9000+ players at peak so you have players. It's not a bad game.

Community servers are not a bad choice either.

This game was Nr 1 for quite some time on the Steam player stats so people played it for a reason.

I'd avoid. If my experience with CoD is anything to go by, the servers will be populated by hipsters who all think "CS:GO ruined teh series!!1!!1!" and kids who are too poor to get the newer game.

I still play on my other account and still have fun playing it, more so than cs:go.

It depends on taste. CS:S is still fun. CS1.6 feels like Half Life 1, CS:S feels like Half Life 2, and CS:GO feels more like TF2, I want to say, but that's just my opinion. Granted, I know the games share engines, but I was comparing what kind of era each game feels like it came from. It's hard to explain.
