I have question about game NieR Automata I can not buy from Saudi steam store because region lock.

if I buy code from US Amazon can I active it in my steam store?

because some my friend active sme code game region lock from Saudi store

im not sure if the game is just region restricted or region play locked.

region play locked games can only be played in the region they are from.

you have to ask Platinum Games that question.

It's not that most companies don't want to sell to certain regions, more often than not the government's in those restricted regions ban the playing or purchasing of certain games.

The game is considered HARAM in Saudi Arabia. Because you play as a female who's not wearing a Hajib.

You should be more concerned about what they'll do to you if the authorities find out you're playing HARAM games. I don't know if they publicly stone people for that kinda stuff or not.

ikr, feels bad since we are all hype for the release, now even the Day One pre-order not confirmed, but also the date for releasing on PC in Asia is also shady as well...

I'm not entirely sure but I have some information that you might find useful. I used to live in the United States and I've bought plenty of games there, all of which I can now play in India. However, there are certain games I've bought from the Steam store HERE which can only be played in India (and perhaps a handful of other regions). That's because the games in question have local pricing, while the US store games I bought had, well, global pricing (of sorts).

AN EXCEPTION (that I know of) is Tera, which I believe is blocked here by the developer itself. Nothing I can do to get around that, unless I use a VPN to play the game, which I can't be arsed enough to.

I'm going to assume that if you bought it from the US store, you should be able to play it in Saudi Arabia. You could ask a friend to gift it to you as well (I've had friends gift me stuff from the US store, although I wasn't able to gift them back from the Indian store).
