Chat messages from friends not showing up in the upper right corner after last Steam Update

Hi, i think i already had this issue in past but i don't remember how i solved it (or if was me who solved it) because i can't see anymore the Green messages of when you receive a chat message from one of your friends, this happened after last Steam update, i don't remember if there is a method to reinizialize and reset all the Steam chat configuration settings, i think that solved my issue last time but i forgot the steps to do, if anyone could remind me the details step by step i would appreciate it a lot, thanks in advance :(

OP, did you get a link to your Steam blotter settings?

Or, was it through your Steam Client.

Left-upper corner - Steam - Pull down menu - Select "Settings"
Pop-up Box - Left Panel - "Friends"
Right Panel of "Friends" - Bottom half - "Notifications and Sounds" - Select and check the various checkboxes

I use the Steam client, the one that install in your windows, and yes, i already have checked all the boxes you said, they were like this also before the update and i did not have this problem before, now i have :(

So, i think i discovered a new thing, i compared my Steam in the browser and my Steam in the Windows installed client and seems the problem is present only in the windows installed client, basically, in the browser, in the upper corner, under the little mail icon are present all the 5 voices:

0 ew omments
0 new items in your inventory
0 new invites
0 new gifts
0 unread chat messages

While in my Steam windows client now i see only the first 4:

0 ew omments
0 new items in your inventory
0 new invites
0 new gifts

So, if someone send me a private message, in the browser the green icon appear, while in the Steam client not, can someone tell me how i could make reappear the green icon in my Steam client? I am always in the client while playing games so i need that those messages appear there, I already tried to reinstall manually the Steam client but the problem was not solved :(
