I'm not sure but it;s in the name of some mountain passes so I would go with that but it could be a word that has a shared meaning. Can you not discern it from thre context of the rest of the song?

Так же в переносном смысле это рубеж, перейти перевал ~= перейти Рубикон(древне-римское изречение) - сжечь за собой мосты, сделать самую трудную часть работы, добится перелома ситуации, перевал - последнее препятствие в достижении цели.
