Mouse won't work
So i was playing TF2 and I got a trade request from somebody so I accepted to see what they had, it opened up the trade in the steam overlay while the game was still playing, there was just one problem... the mouse wasn't there. This makes it IMPOSSIBLE to trade. The only other way I can trade is if I add that person as a friend out of game then trade on steam. Can somebody please fix this? I've looked on google but nothing came up.
P.S.
I am a mac user, not sure if this is just me or everybody else.

What OS you got installed? yoshmite?

I've seen this a few times, the steam overlay usually unhides the cursor, but sometimes it just sort of locks up.

Easiest workaround is to accept the offer, then when you find the cursor hasn't been unhidden, simply press shift-tab to go back into the game, hit escape to go into the menu (which also unhides the cursor), and then hit shift-tab again to get back into the trade with a now visible cursor.

None of the tips here work. I think valve needs to patch this because it is impossible to play any multiplayer games with friends this way.

Is the Steam overlay really that vital while playing games? It's mostly there for trading and tabbing out to a guide. The Mac OS lets you tab out of most games anyway via mission control. I just switch out to another desktop whenever I need to tab out for any reason and only a few games prevent this (I *think* they are all windows-only games which run through wine though). If you need to hit your friends list up to follow them after they switch servers or something, you can always easily get there via mission control.

Also I've never heard of the Steam overlay hiding an already visible mouse.

... It's literally 2 keys you have to press on your keyboard. If you don't have the "luxury" of being able to press Command and then the right arrow key to just switch out of the game, I don't think anyone will be able to help you.

pressing two keys is not switching a desktop. and what dont you get about the fact that i should not have to switch out of my game to find my mouse. i want to be able to stay in my game and play with my friends online without having to guess where my mouse is.

Umm, yes. It is. By default the Mission Control keyboard command to switch desktops is, in fact, 2 keys. And if you, as you say, lack the luxury of being able to press 2 keys at once, try F3 or try rebinding the commands so something you do have the ability to press. Simply denying the feature exists does not remove it from the OS.

No, I've gotten plently. And I've offered more than one solution. You appear to be unwilling to allow help on the matter, to the point where I'm starting to suspect you don't actually have a problem and are just trolling. Like I said before, I don't think anyone will be able to help you. Once again, I've never heard of a case where the steam overlay hides an already revealed mouse; pressing Escape to get into the menu of the game should reveal the mouse, thus allowing you to use it in the Steam overlay. i've done this enough times myself to doubt when you tell me that the overlay goes out of its way to hide the mouse after you've shown it yourself.
