Easiest workaround is to accept the offer, then when you find the cursor hasn't been unhidden, simply press shift-tab to go back into the game, hit escape to go into the menu (which also unhides the cursor), and then hit shift-tab again to get back into the trade with a now visible cursor.
Also I've never heard of the Steam overlay hiding an already visible mouse.
... It's literally 2 keys you have to press on your keyboard. If you don't have the "luxury" of being able to press Command and then the right arrow key to just switch out of the game, I don't think anyone will be able to help you.
No, I've gotten plently. And I've offered more than one solution. You appear to be unwilling to allow help on the matter, to the point where I'm starting to suspect you don't actually have a problem and are just trolling. Like I said before, I don't think anyone will be able to help you. Once again, I've never heard of a case where the steam overlay hides an already revealed mouse; pressing Escape to get into the menu of the game should reveal the mouse, thus allowing you to use it in the Steam overlay. i've done this enough times myself to doubt when you tell me that the overlay goes out of its way to hide the mouse after you've shown it yourself.
