Switching from Mac to PC
I've had Steam for my iMac for years, but I am going to be switching to a PC soon. Are all the Steam games I purchased for my Mac going to be 100% useless on my PC, or will I be able to use the Windows versions of all the games in my collection? I just want to know what I'm losing in the change (if anything).

No.

Everything purchased on your Steam account (Games, inventory items, etc.) all remain on your account regardless of which device you log into.

However, as your new PC will be a different device than the iMac, you'll need to reinstall Steam and the games from your Library.

Thank you for your quick response! Just so I have things straight, I would log into Steam from a new PC, download the Steam interface & all my games, and then I'd be able to play all the games I already have on my Mac (actually, more games than I can play now -- thanks to Catalina). That would be something I don't have to consider then when I make the purchase.

Again, thanks for your help.
Yea, basically. You have an account and everything you have bought on that account is still yours. Bought a game on Steam? You keep it forever.Enjoy gaming on PC man!

Why would you switch to windows from mac? Are you crazy ?…..

Lol just buy a parallel 17 app and run windows inside macOS like an app if really need some of the games

Try to do that with an M1 Mac and then run your Windows games, good luck.

Because on PC, you don't need to jump through hoops and buy different software just to allow your games to launch.

The Mac only games you’ll have to stream from your Mac to PC and vice versa. You can also just add Parallel and play both games on that!
