Games that run well?
Hi friends. So, I have a MacBook Pro 2019 (16GB Ram), but most games still run poorly. (Please don't give me the "get a PC" speech. It's not within my means right now). Have you found any games that actually run well without terrible over heating on mac? I hate mac, but it's what I have. Any tips? :lunar2019piginablanket:

The RAM isn't the only factor of performance...

It also depends on Graphics and Processor, I'd assume a Mac with 16 GB RAM wouldn't have weak components...

Yeah, but even thought it's supposed to be a powerful laptop, whenever i try to play games I can tell my 10 year old HP would have outperformed this mac. I have 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5, Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655 1536 MB.
Any games proven to run smoothly?

How can you describe a laptop without a dedicated videocard as powerful?

CPU is not bad, a bit faster than an older i7-2600 (non-k).
But the lack of a dedicated videocard is the really, really big issue.

I found an amazing game called Star Traders: Frontiers. It's a long-haul game. It's probably not for everyone, but I love it, and my laptop doesn't even seem to notice when I'm playing. Awesome. Thanks everyone, if you find more games like this, please add for future reference.

The i5 is OK, but in the Mac lineup it's near the bottom for a MacBook Pro when you consider there are configurations with i7 and i9 CPUs.

That said - Apple's graphics APIs are likely the real issue. Even my 16" WITH a dGPU gets hot when playing games.

Well, it's very light on the requirements, that game runs even on a toaster without it getting hot.

A game with similar low requirements would be this for example:
