Steam > Preferences won't open on my Macbook
Trying to access the settings menu to set up family library sharing, but clicking: Steam > Preferences Or CMD' still doesn't open anything. My Steam client is up to date, etc. Is this a common glitch? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Specs: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), Mac OS Sierra 10.12.1

Preferences would be command ,

Are you sure the Preferences window doesn't open under your active window?

Yeah, the hotkey doesn't work either, sorry should've mentioned that. I moved the window around and checked my other workspaces - nothing :/

Check if you have Familiy view enabled, if so either disable it or unlock it using the green button on the right top in the steam client once the button is red you should be able to open the Preferences.

Exit family view, then it will work. To exit family view, click on the green people icon in the upper right corner of steam.

Like Miracle said check if you see a green button on top, if yes. Then familyview is enabled, click it, enter your PIN.and now the icon should be red. Now you are able to open your preferences.

This is just a joke that you need to turn off Familly view to see preferences. Also there is no popup to indicate that.
