Why is steam EXTREMELY buggy on Mac?
I'm facing TONS of bugs using steam on my Mac Mini.
It's basically messed up from top to bottom, everything I do on steam using my Mac contains a bug.
Am I missing something? Do all Mac users have the same problems or is it just me?

Well to tell the truth, Mac is not really a gaming OS or the PCs arnt for gaming.

(You pay an extra 1k for the OS to work, but it doesn't.... work)

None of this is an actual description of any problem you're having, and as such nobody will be able to help you.

1. When clicking something it becomes highlighted.
2. Putting a cursor over a drop down menu will result in the menu to appear in a different location.
3. Sometimes typing doesn't work and some sort of short cuts are executed instead (like copy paste find etc)

This sounds like your Command key is being pressed. Check your keyboard the key might be malfunctioning.

seen this bug myself, easy workaround is to restart the Steam client. Usually it happens if I close a trade window while the mouse cursor is also above one of those menus.

Command key again.

I'm pretty sure my command key is not pressed

It only happens on steam no where else

Unless something changed since I last checked, the Steam client is literally incapable of sending key commands to your system. i.e. It can't tell your computer to act as if the command key is being pressed. But if you want to run a quick test, the next time you notice it is happening just press option and escape.

If your command key is reconized as being pressed by the OS, this will open your force quit menu. If it is just Steam that acts differently, nothing will happen.

I haven't had any of those issues on my Late 2012 Mac Mini. Its probably something wrong with your keyboard/mouse or running program interfering in the background.
Steam has been stable for me.

I had an issue for months, my system was very slow and I couldn't play videos in fullscreen, I also couldn't play videogames without my system becoming sluggish. It turned out my razer naga mouse's usb wire was bent so much at one end and it caused high cpu. Drawing in too much power and the buttons becoming hot. Had it for five years. I did't know until two days later when I attached a new mouse and look at my razer mouse wire that I found out it was a hardware problem. So unless you know for sure its steam don't assume. All that time I thought it was a macos update that made my system even slower.

It's not slow or sluggish, just buggy

I've experienced the bug with spontaneous highlighting too, and I can confirm that it's mildly irritating. Never been able to understand what exactly causes it, my only vague suspicion is that Steam may be confused by non-English languages such as Japanese that use IMEs for text input.

Whenever that calamity happens, you can press "Esc" and Steam should snap out of that "select everything" mood. Or right click anywhere on the page (a context menu will appear) and then left click outside the menu to cancel it.

It's not really that buggy tbh, if you have too many problems you can just use WineBottler for Mac and run the Windows version of Steam instead.

The spoon is not really that broken tbh, if you have too many problems with it you can just use a plastic fork.
"You can just get a life and stop playing games altogether" sounds like a much more reasonable option that I'm personally going for.
