Help setting up a Source Dedicated Server for CS Source

Apparently since the "Source Dedicated Server" listed in Steam tools in now useless I'm trying to use SteamCMD to setup a dedicated server. I can get it to download Counterstrike Source using App ID 240 but I can't run server. It creates an hl2.exe in the directory where I tell it to install CS Source but it doesn't work. I've found several "tutorials" online but they are either old and outdated or only listed half of the information that I need. So what I need at this point is a way of getting a dedicated server to actually run. I have the CS Source files downloaded and validated. But I only have an HL2.exe that doesn't work. Can anyone tell me what I need to do next? I have created a server.cfg file and placed it in the CStrike cfg folder. Instructions I found said to run a command line starting with srcds.exe however that only shows up when I download the Source Dedicated Server using Steam tools. When I use SteamCMD it does not download srcds.exe

Counter Strike Source SRCDS (SouRCe Dedicated Server) Application ID is 232330[steamdb.info]...not 240[steamdb.info].

240 is the game id, hence the hl.exe and not srcds.exe See this[i202.photobucket.com] and the official Application Id List.

My Contagion Guide lays out the basics for all SRCDS Installations. You just need a Server cfg[www.dropbox.com] and srcds.exe launch parameter. Here is an old guide (it's an old game) but if a new guide needs to be written I may take the time to do it.

When I try the longer ID's such as 232330 I receive a (No Subscription) Error. *Update - Ok, if I log in anonymously instead of with my actual Steam account it works.

Thanks, that has helped, at least now I have a basic server up and running, now I can start tweaking things.

Yup, you can login anonymously for all servers except Contagion (at least that is the only I know of at the moment since it uses the same id for the game and server)

SRCDS servers, just login anonymously.
