Black screen problem

I can't open mk1 because it gets stuck on the initial black screen, do someone know how to fix it or what's wrong?

do you use software maybe for graphics card drivers? could maybe be a graphics driver thing. maybe try launching the game in a window using the launch parameters in steam settings for the game. and see if it still remains black when its launched in a window. cuz if its not the files for the game itself. its gotta be an issue on your machine. but also look into it on google other people may have experienced the same issues for mortal kombat 1. tbh, i dont think steam really is the best for all these outside of steam games so alot of games do just have issues when being hosted and purchased off of steam. ive seen it with older games even games like man hunt some need patched software etc just to run. i bought delta force 2 off steam couldnt even play it online without downloading some bootleg community made patch software.

well how do i do that? cause i've looked up everywhere and have found no solution so far for my problem

right click on the game in the library go to properties and under launch parameters form field add +windowed 1 and then run the game it should open in a window instead of full screen

i did that but i think it didn't really work still full screen

ok try typing in the launch options -sw -w 1280 -h 720. then launch if that doesnt work then maybe mk1 cant run in windowed mode i know that codename gordon is sadly like this but that game is stupid old

there is no problem if i copy and paste it from your message is it? because it was what i did before and im just waiting to check the game files are all good

Guys, hear me out… Launch Steam>Disable your Ethernet connection through network settings> launch MK1> load into main menu> re enable Ethernet, enjoy. someone posted that amidst the threads maybe try that too less work i think

^^ quite possible mk1 does some kind of preloading network check that crashes or freezes the rest of it with disabling ethernet enabling it to bypass the issue then reenable to play online

judging by the reddit i would say this is an active bug that the community is actively trying to resolve for each individuals needing

yeah i honestly kind of like more the sound of that than other solutions i've looked up in weeks modifing idk what so much stuff let me try then
