some guy said that steam will host and provide the servers for me?
Is this true? if anyone knows?
Yeah, steam could provide servers for downloading the game, or a community discussion, like this one for your game, and such things like that..
A server which you could run the game (like cs:go steam servers), no, they dont do that afaik.
Why you so worried about that.. thats a cheap thing to consider on a game development.
You can pretty much scale as the game is sold, you dont need a million server on a indie game on day 1, and i think you can rent some linux server using $5 or so, maybe even more cheap on google (which you can scale if need).
My laptop needs to be on in order for the game to run right?

An 2d pixel game with few people, no problem.
Support 64 players all at once with massive graphics load and huge update rate (gamestages), not a chance.
