I'm creating a dedicated server and I get stuck at this step.

Checking boostrapper version.....
Getting version 51 of steam HLDS Update Tool
No steam Content Servers available, please try again later


What gives? I've been trying "later" for the last couple of hours....

You have to use the new server download tool, called SteamCMD..

Hldsupdatetool is outdated, and dont have support anymore.

Out of curiosity what server are you attempting to create?

The process is the same for most servers (Contagion requires one to own the game as the APPID is the same for the game as the server)

This is a L4D2 guide, but it details the SteamCMD installation process which is the same for most other servers, just use the correct APPID:
