CS:GO server set up issue, CS:GO using wrong ip address
Hi

I am hosting a server from my PC and new to this,

I set my PC to connect to my router at ip address 192.168.0.8 its the ip of the wifi adapter

Ports 27015 27006 are forwarded for tcp and udp, I set up a service to proxy traffic to my PC local ip (192.168.0.8)

However when I run the cgo server it binds to a different ip, the ip address of something called vEthernet adaptor on my PC

I cannot connect to my server over the public ip address

I am assuming its because the router is forwarding to 192.168.0.8 not the vEthernet adaptor cs:go binds to? or is it something different?

Any insight appreciated thanks!

It should accept connections reaching it..

My linux l4d2 srcds server reply on both 192.168.0.5 and 127.0.0.1(not sure about this one, but its the local loopback ip)..

Even if someone connects using a vpn (also hosting) and get a completely diferent ip address, it still works..
edit: on status it only show the loopback ip and the public ip.

Your wifi adapter is the primary router on the network?
Is your isp using CGNAT? (check the wan ip on the primary internet router)
