MasterRequestRestart Your server is out of date. Please update and restart.
Help - I've been running a dedicated Source Server with CS:GO for a little while now and everything has been going fine until a few weeks ago. I noticed that my server had stopped working with the following error:

MasterRequestRestart
Your server is out of date. Please update and restart.

No worries, I have updated my server before - I run the commands, it downloads and updates. I validate the update and it says that the upgrade has been successfully deployed & is valid as the latest update. Great, I go to restart the server again and get the same message.

I did another update and it seemed to download another update so I thought that was the end of it but no, I still get the same issue. I have since tried to update a couple of times but each time it says that I have the most current version of GS:GO.

Is there something I am missing here? Just above the errors in srcds.exe I notice the following line: GC Connection established for server version 1133, instance idx 1.

Could this version here be causing me issues? As in the CS:GO game itself is the most current version but the version of srcds.exe is old? I only downloaded and installed it a few months ago.

I am running the server on Windows Server 2019 and as I said before, no issues for the first couple of months. Keen to get it resolved ASAP so any help anyone can provide would be greatl appreciated! :)

Thanks in advance!

Try to make a new server and see if its still the same problem it can be that your folder you have the csgo server on dosent have the correct premssion to download or change files

Making a new server is not a solution, c'mon....
Did any one find a fix for this?

My workaround was to download and install SteamCMD GUI, and update my CSGO server from there.

To solve this problem
Open steamcmd and type the following commands in order

login anonymous
force_install_dir ./location of folder
app_update (your game's id) validate

Close SteamCmd
Open your server

Hey, guys

I don't know if you are still having this problem, but here's the tip, I was having a problem that when I downloaded the update and started the server it gave the error "server is out of date", but I noticed that when downloading the update a new folder 'server' was created in a place where it shouldn't, consequently not updating.

Example;
C:\Server CSGO\server (correct directory)
C:\server (directory being created)

Even putting the necessary installation commands "force_install_dir ./location of folder", it was not installed in the right place.

The only alternative I found was a simple copy and paste, copy where it was created and paste in the correct directory. Before, I made a backup of the 'addons' folder to not lose metamod and sourcemod settings (C:\example-name\server\csgo\addons)

****** Basically, confirm where the file is going, if it's not the right place, you can do it manually with ctrl c+v. ******
