How to create a Lan game without the lan cable? (probably stupid question)

I live off of satellite internet so i can't play games online like every normal person and i wanted to try play games with my brother using a lan cable. But mom said no because she didn't wan't to trip over the cable so i have to find another option. If there are other options besides lan i will be more than willing to try.

Maybe you can use a wireless router and setup a local network.

You would need a router for that and set it up with the internet wires, I think that's the only way.

I think I understand where you are coming from but I'm talking games like dying light and borderlands. things along those lines where the only local option in lan.

Ok not quite getting what you are saying here can you please elaborate. Are we talking about a reagular wireless router or like on of those lan hubs?

You can use Wireless LAN. LAN is not only a wired connection.

Try setting up an adhoc network you and your brother can connect to each others computer creating a p2p connection
