Alienwares are overpriced for what they can do. Just makeone, its way cheaper.
well im thinking of getting it of ebay cause theyre cheap on that but do you have any ideas for cheap gaming laptops for £500 or under
plus i dont know how to make a pc
I have a m12x and it's great. Great for gaming and also for work (audio production). I would say it's as good as an Imac for work but there are still some audio-programs which are only available for osx. I'm not really a fan of Dell but that laptop is just great.

Maybe you should write the specs of the m11x you want to buy, so people can tell you if you can get a cheaper one with same/better specs or if it's a good deal.

k thx and what games can a m12x run
ps that really helps
and where did you get your m12x cause i cant find any
Building a PC is like putting legos together. The most difiicult part is just choosing the parts, http://pcpartpicker.com/ should help.
I mean the m14x, sorry for my mistake. Bought it directly from Dell.
Have an i7, 8GB 1600 Ram, Geforce 650m...

I can run all games with a 1600x900 resolution. Games like Far Cry 3 or Crysis 3 are lagging if I try to play them maxed out, but with medium settings they are playable. Arma3 runs with 20 - 30 fps if I play it maxed out. 60 fps with medium settings.

@building PCs
Some stores allow you to configure your own Laptop. You just have to choose the parts you want and they put them together. I think that's what Nightmare was writing about.

do you have any website suggestions for building pcs
I'm not from the US so I don't know any stores there. Maybe someone else can give you some links. I only know german stores for building laptops
does anyone know how much it would cost to make a pc
If you're set on a cheap PC, then I would recommend a desktop because pound-for-pound they're far cheaper.

However, if you're stuck on a laptop, then I would NOT recommend Alienware, as even though they may be cheap on Ebay, they're still overpriced, comparatively.

Personally, for your budget, I'd have a look at MSI or Asus. I personally have used a couple of MSI laptops for the last 5 or 6 years and have proved very reliable, whereas Dell (who own Alienware) I had before them were not great at all, and their customer service was terrible.

Have a look at PC Gamer for a damned good idea, with a recommended setup.

However, as a ballpark figure, it depends entirely on what you want. How long's a piece of string?

If you want a mid-range PC that'll most modern games reasonably well at a fair resolution, then I'd recommend around £500 (or dollars, or regional equivalent). Of course, you can knock that down a little if you re-use keyboards, mice, screens, etc.

But I'd advise NOT to scrimp in any way. Plan what you want BEFOREHAND, and buy it all in one go - DON'T buy a graphics card this month, then something else the next and work like that - you'll never get anywhere.

I will say one last point VERY strongly though - there is NO way round this. Generally, if you haven't got enough money for what you want, don't go for a cheaper model as you'll be disappointed. If you can't afford it yet - WAIT.
