scrabble on steam?

was on faceboook and used my norton anti-virus and when I clicked on steam it said something about SCRABBLE on STEAM for $9.99. I log into my steam account and go to store page and typed in scrabble and no results came up. my question is does steam have scrabble already or is steam getting scrabble soon?

Don't think so, I think EA own that game so it would be more likely to appear on Origin.

Also, $9.99 seems a tad pricey.

Monopoly is on Steam for $9.99, though I agre with the EA and Origin. It has no multiplayer though and isn't worth it, imho.

OP,

I think that was a phishing attempt since Steam does not have Scrabble or was it Scribblenauts that was being advertised? I could see those being confused.

Scrabble doesn't seem to be available in Australia either.

Found it. Guess it was added today (in the US I guess). Along with Risk, Life and Battleship.

However, they seem to be the same makers as Monopoly (life is the only exception, all PopCap though). Only one has MP and it is local MP. The others seem to all be single player vs bots only.

Don't think I will be buying form that company...ever.

I recall a similar issue with Family Game Night on XBLA where Scrabble wasn't available outside of the US. I think it's because Mattel owns the rights to Scrabble internationally.

I saw it appear in my Steam News RSS feed, so it's definitely "there" and official.

Risk has been available before, as has Battleships (I have them on my account, along with Boggle and something else, but they don't offer that package any more).

But Scrabble is always a problem because two companies own it in different parts of the world. I can't buy Scrabble from the UK (I get a "not available in your region"), and even the graphic designs are all different between the companies. Chances are that only the US really has Scrabble available for them. And Game Of Life? Really? What's to "play" on a computer with that? At least even with Boggle or Battleships or Risk or even Monopoly there was some multiplayer element reliant on skill.

I just purchased this game for both myself and a friend so we could play through Steam only to find out the multiplayer mentioned in the description is not actually online multiplayer through Steam, but instead more of a take turns using the same computer multiplayer. Man, I just spent $20.00 for no reason. I really wanted to play online with my friend.

So guys, be weary if you are buying to play online against your friends, because it's not possible. Someone mentioned it above but I didn't see the thread until it was too late.

Man, that's so disappointing.
