I hate Cnet

I'm aggravated that Cnet is going along with the rest of the software distributing industry and make me download one of their "installers". With these installers they are trying to slip some third party software onto my computer. It's aggravating become most of this software is useless and it’s not apparent that it has been installed on my computer. What's worse is that I can’t find contact information to voice my opinion to Cnet. It’s disappointing that even one of the best software distributers have turned to this petty attempt to distribute ♥♥♥♥♥♥ software. So that's a big ♥♥♥♥ YOU to Cnet.

Under it should be one that says "Direct Download". It is small and easely missed.

I hate cnet downloader too. If it wasn't for that link, I wouldn't use it at all. Sometimes though, they are the only site I can find to downlosd something.

You seem to be talking about the initial download experience. Nobody likes in your face advertising. All download sites seem to have this though.

I think however he is referring to all those actually downloaded installers that when you start them up don't just install the product, but all that other crap (toolbars, etc).

A third thing I hate is the installer downloader installer. A micro-program that downloads the real installer you were actually looking for. Adobe's FlashPlayer and Acrobat Reader installers are prime examples. Oh, and they delete themselves as they start up, and remove the actual installer from your temp folder when it finishes(you can grab it if you're skillfull enough). Any failure at all and you have to trudge back to their site and try again (or run the copy of the installer).
