Sci-fi died when it became syfy, period.

It died some time before then. They just changed the name hoping for a revival.

Like Comcast changing it's name to Xfinity to try and hide it's history of bad customer service.

Radio Shack trying to get "modern" by calling it's self "The Shack".

Such a stupid way to do it, imho.

I don't know where you're got your information but Warehouse 13's new season is starting this week. Firefly started on Fox before sci-fi/syfy even existed, you were watching reruns. Same for Stargate (at least until the spin-offs), even I was getting tired of the various spin-offs.

Although I wish Eurika continued, I can understand why they ended the series. It was getting very close to shark jumping moment. Its better to end it with favorable status, than to ruin the brand. I think they'll bring back a reboot of Eurika after some time has pass.

I didn't like BSG, still haven't bother to watch alphas.

I think Sci-Fi died around the time they did Mad Mad House. That was when they got crazy over reality tv. I was like WTF because at the time there was already a reality tv channel. I still love watching them crazy b-flick sci-fi horror movies. Scy fy original movies fun to watch and get a good laugh in...
