No. We like having to gather and deal with mobs. More fun that way. We didn't like the free for all building too much.
Graphics.
It is programmed in pure Java.
You have to creat a .bat file with a command extention in order to use more then 512mb of ram. If you don't the game can lag, even on vanilla. More so with mods and texture packs.
Vanilla textures are 16bit.
Simple combat.
Wish it had finite water, not infinite.
Crafting anything but simple items requires a wiki for component and/or placement.

My wife and I are also waiting for:

Looks nice, just want to wait untill it is closer to being done and what it is like.
So far it seems a lot like Minecraft.
Worth $30? Absolutely.
edit. Have to add that i didn't mess with mods that much, i always loved the vanilla most for some reason.
DO IT! Listen to the RoTFCreeper!!!
I use creative with my 3year old, though. He always wants a purple house with a fire place in the middle, the gets mad when it burns down. :-P I try to warn him, but he never listens.
That and rollercoasters.
Conclusion?Dont buy it.
It took me a year to get bored of it. I took a 3 month break, and now I'm playing it again and it's just as fun as I remember. Don't listen to Marisa.
1. The way you have to find a multiplayer server. There is no server list, you gotta find an IP manually on the net.
1.b. Hosting a local multiplayer. The way you have to set it up is annoying. And even when done right it wouldn't always work and you have to find one of those programs on the net that probably has spyware on it.
2. So I get the game, think of building an old map level from an N64 game (and boy did I spent time on it). But after doing so much I kept getting the thought I was just wasting my time and it wouldn't really work. Then the thought of the multiplayer problem kept haunting me in my map making.
3. Lack of variety. Again this puts me off bothering to finish that map.
3.b. Mods. Not everyone will use them. Not everyone knows how to use them. Not everyone can join a game without them. And if I remember right, not all servers allow certain mods.
4. The way the game is advertised online via the fans. There is something just not right with any of it. They make it out as if everyone should just buy it because they did. Well I don't do that sort of thing. And then that Minecon thing. Just a money maker to me.
The funniest thing I find here is that I played an unpaid for version before the paid version. And it had more options in it and I thought the paid version did not require this messing around with multiplayer things.
