Is Minecraft worth the $30.00?
Ok, first of all I wanna hear from those who actually bought the game for that much.
Now, I understand that you can install mods, but REALLY?

if you do not know how to install the mods and you already got frustrated with it then no, it's not worth 30 dollars when terraria is like 10 bucks

Minecraft is very much worth $30.00. Tons of content and fun. Multiplayer PvP servers are awesome (check out Project Ares, Dwarves vs. Zombies, craftfortress). And mods. Hundreds of mods that add even more awesome to it. That, and Minecraft is STILL being regularly updated by Mojang and will continute to be updated until Minecraft is no longer popular.

Yes, it is. My wife and I have put over 200+ hours )each) playing it. No mods either...well...one mod. Death Chest. But that was it.

To put it in a bit of perspective, I bought MW3 for $60 and only have 30 hours in it.

Minecraft if really fun when you have someone to play with on a regular basis. Building and surviving together was a lot of fun.

They are also adding an easy way to install mods. That have an easy way to do textures already.

Depends on what type of gamer that you are. If you are the type of gamer that likes to create things as well as customizing things and infulencing the gaming world around you, then minecraft is definately your cup of tea. A lot of action gamers might not like minecraft because it's not as fast paced a game then they would like, but I do like the survivor mode and exploding creepers and skeleton archers that they have which makes the game exciting. I like survival mode because it feels that you are in an island where you have to survive while building whatever your heart desires. I like creative mode because it can give you the experience of building something great without being interrupted. For example one friend showed me a building that he made on the university campus grounds and it was quite impressive. While minecraft is not my favorite game, I do consider it a very good game.

Well i do not think it is worth 30 dollars cause if you buy it and get bored of it after finishing EVERYTHING such as, build everything you wanted, kill the ender dragon plus the wither, and basicly have god stuff. then there would be no point in continueing cause you have everything you need at your base and it's just... boring

If you are a "social gamer", mods are a pain in the ass! Most servers don't allow it. But besides that.....♥♥♥♥ YEAH!!! Get the game NOW!!!!

dude no, no mods = boring
mods = a little better but a little laggy
PLUS most of the mods are not compatable with each other so why bother?

...That is true of any game you buy.

Thing about Minecraft is that it is a diffrent game every time. Diffrent world, diffrent cave systems, village locations, ect. New challanges. You may have start in an area with a lot of iron last time, and a mine near by, but this time you may only find one a few days out.

Also, you can never creat everything you want to. There is always something more to make.

Yes but see the thing is if you seem done building, then you will continue thinking of ideas, but if you can't think of any then you are screwed.

No mods is still fun.
Mods make no diffrence to most people and no lag unless you are using a 32bit OS and/or have less then 2GB of ram.
What game have you been playing? Unless the mods do the same things, then there are very few compatability issues.

After severel hundred hours of game play, even if you can't think of anything else to build, how are you screwed?

That is several hundred hours of a game for $30. That is well worth it.

Honestly, the fact that you two are able to defend your points is beyond me(AKA impresses me.).
I have seen Minecraft videos, and to me, Minecraft seems like the type of game where if you WANNA spend some time on it, you can make unlimited things. However, if you don't wanna spend the time on it, the odds of creating "great" creations tends to narrow down.

Am I correct?

No. I haven't created great things. Neither has my wife. We just farm, explore and build tons of little outposts. Gather, maybe make a small castle, farm and go to the Neither.

It is, however, up to the individual. Like any other game. Took my wife (she has a BA in Graphics Design) a bit to get past the graphics, but the game play was good.
