if you were to ever tell a polish person their "master" was russia, you would be receiving some extremely harsh words. this is a hatred one cannot possibly be understanding, as an outsider. as a georgian, poles are my "kin" in that we have both suffered at russias hand, so trust me when i am saying that no pole thinks this.

the government of poland does not wish to be invaded, they will be doing what they can to ease tensions.

And we better don't start looking at Italy -- the Roman Empire was quite large...

... and what we call "United States of America" belongs to someone else too.

Not Putin. Putin would gladly leave Crimea and Donbass in Ukraine if Ukraine stopped discriminating Russians and other hostilities against Russia, eg. selling Russian naval base in Crimea to NATO.

Somehow that doesn't quite fit together. First torpedoing the energy projects of the European nations and then demanding protection from the same ones. Perhaps they should let themselves be protected by those who advised them to do so. Stupid move.

Maybe they want go back working at the Lenin shipyard like they did in Cold War. I don't know what the Poles want. They seem to be very confused. ,-)

It doesn't matter what they want. Once EU is over(it will happen before 2030) these small countries will need a new breast to suck on. They can't rely on their own, EU was made with a huge trick. You have to lose a LOT to join. For example Lithuania closed its nuclear plant(how dare they to produce energy). And it's very painful to leave EU.
But until 2030 EU will collapse anyway.
