I can no longer believe that there are faithful people in the world. Many of my friends have been cheated on by their partners, and when I talk to them, many of the conversations are about how a person who is not their partner is beautiful and how they would date that person. I also hear countless stories about how people are not faithful or how they have cheated on someone. Am I wrong to disbelieve that normal relationships exist?

I would say in the past decade or so it is more common but their is still many faithful relationships

there are bad people anywhere. and forming a healthy relationship is not easy. your friends may have been selecting bad people to begin with, its really hard to say since there's so many factors involved.

anyways, time to harp on social media literacy: the takeaway is, if you're doomscrolling a bunch of videos on some social media site, and they're telling you this, well that is flat out false stuff for clicks dude. its time to unplug, and stop giving them your clicks, and clean up your algos.

It's just typical human nature, nothing new, nothing unique. Accept that people don't get along. Accept that people have their reasons and that sometimes idiots relatives or friends judge others in extremely stupid ways. People should not force themselves to stay together, including with having kids as an excuse unless it just destroys the support system for them entirely I guess, but I thought people can still financially support from afar and folks should not stay together if one of them is unhappy.

Folks should stop having children anyway, and stop spreading the human virus across this wretched godforsaken planet that's heating up like an oven. Scientists have known about the global warming climate catastrophe since the 1950s and insanely enough some idiot cartoon creators later in the early 2000s denied it still. What should REALLY make folks lose faith, hope, etc. is by just taking a look at the current state of the planet and how humanity treats itself, animals, and the planet. Melodramatic human trash really bellyache about their petty issues as they ravage, abuse, and destroy so much around themselves.

Using the term partner feels like a distancing move. And I think that helps people feel more comfortable with stepping out on their contract. If you regard your relationship like it's a business proposal, it's gonna be more work than it is fun. But, I mean, that's just one aspect that I think contributes to this.

hmm, i can see what you are meaning with this. but i just like to use the term partner because, my partners are my "partners", equal partners in a partnership between two peoples. i guess when you put it like this, it does sound kind of business like. but i guess i have just never liked english terms like "boyfriend/girlfriend", i always equate it to younger relationships like those of teenagers.

Yeah, I thought about that too after I made that post. I realized I dunno what term I would prefer, but I definitely think there's a better term to use than partner, maybe "significant other". But, could just be that working with heartless corporate people has given me a little PTSD.
