Would you fight for your country?

Hear me out.

If tomorrow your country gets invaded by another country, perhaps a full scale WW3 scenario.

Would you try to dodge the draft and somehow get out of it or would you wait for them to draft you, cooperate or hell..even volunteer ?

And why ?


I personally would not fight for my country and would try to avoid the draft by leaving my country.
But I would probably not hide in some forest shed's basement for years and probably " turn myself in " at some point... Unless there is a way to really leave the country for me or somehow maintain a little quality in my life. Basically like most Ukrainian men handle it, I would as well.

Here in Indonesia we still got donated australian bushmaster as troop transport. I don't think we're in position to invade Australia.

Indonesia has one of the biggest military on the planet and once it starts to expand on its technology and naval capabilities, its a major thread and could even invade a country like Russia.

I was in the army unlike most of you here. I have zero issues with taking up arms to fight anywhere on this planet if my country's security and safety is at stake.

Whilst I may not agree with a lot going on in my country's politics, regardless, it is my home. I may not be overly mobile, but set me up in a tower with a rifle and a scope? Sure, I'd have a go.

You don't really want to do that in a conventional war. Because they enemy will hit those towers first, with missiles and artillery. LOL.

If that happens, you have nowhere to run to.

Eh, I've lived a good life. If I can be an inconvenience, or make them waste some ordinance, so be it. Besides, they'd need to blow through a fair bit to get past our navy and airforce to get boots on the ground in the first place.

My country doesn't really do much to defend itself, so my contribution to that wouldn't do anything either.

Maybe if a small speck like Luxembourg attacks or something.... nah, we probably wouldn't stand a chance then either.

I would leave the country if it gets to that point. Drafting isn’t good for moral because you’re making people fight instead of letting people join voluntarily.

What is more of an effective force? A well trained, well organized, cohesive force who is motivated and willing to fight.

Fighting as a grunt? No way. Fight remotely using a hands on throttle-and-stick, pressing buttons while staring at a monitor like playing a video game, yes, maybe.

My thinking is that they are in your town, no one is coming to help, you and yours is all you got. I agree with what you say.
I guess that is worst case scenario and other people arent looking at it that way so maybe my wording has been a little strong but all this antiamerica stuff i see especially from young people annoys me. I think of my grandfather and older people and the stuff they went through for me to have what i do.
They never seen a hard day and it shows, i havent either.
