More likely have 1 to 3 kids and then divorce in early childhood. With or without prolonged legal battles depending on socioeconomic status and how much wealth is there to drain. Otherwise hammer one parent with child support and make the kids feel caught between, or if they're young enough (2 - 4) divorce then to embed into the core the sense that it was something they did.
