The moon. Crazies can't get me there.

Otherwise, just wherever I could afford it. So...nowhere.

Yeah, but meteors can.

I'd better make my house underground then.

oh my god

my dream house

Looks like an adviser from Half-Life 2. I wouldn't trust it.
I wouldn';t buy a house frankly.

I live in rural Lincolnshire, England near Boston. It's very quiet here although boring as ♥♥♥♥. Pros and cons.

Back when I started a family, had a job and so on, we rented for the short term while we were saving for deposit. Then I became disabled and things went tits up.

Thankfully, I gota decent house and benefits sorted so we were alright but it was scary for a short while while we were in limbo.

But luckily as it turned out had I still worked and been able to buy, I'm bloody glad I didn't as it's been a ♥♥♥♥♥ market even here in Britain. House prices have always got more and more stupid so I wouldn't have been comfortable being saddled with that stupid amount of debt and such little flexibility.

But if given the choiceI'd probably choose to still live in this area because it IS quiet and it is safe. It might be dull but here's the thing. travel nowadays is easy. Even for a cripple like me. So I can easily go at a moment's notice to anywhere interesting or do what I want.

It's quite nice to have a nice quiet area to live in and I am thankful for it.

Somewhere in Switzerland, but not near a mountaintop. Those darn yodelers are always up there. And if it's not the yodelers it's some woman high on life.

Just stay in the valleys and you'll be fine.

norway.

-houses only 20-25% of what they cost in my nation
-wages 2 times what they are in my nation
-lower taxes, yet much better returns..
**1 year maturnity leave for woman 2 months for man, here 4 weeks woman 2 days man.
**better quality schools, that have no homework for kids as they run 9-18 instead of 9-15
**cheaper healthcare system
-much more beatifull looking surroundings the landscapes there.. stunning everywhere like a paining.. here... all gray and concrete.
-MUCH friendlier people.. not as rude as here..
-a much more nationalistic people, but somehow more accepting.. if you assimilate fully to their language and culture.. and join full force in the nationalism you are much more easely accepted.. especially if you already look like them like me.
-far fewer immigrants.. first place I actually felt "home" in my own country I am used to having constantly 70-90% immigrants around me... and those who aint often also have darker hair.. it was refreshing to be surrounded only by people looking like me
-
they are NOT member of the stupid eu.. they still have their own coin.. but they are member of shengen.. the best of both worlds.
-
they dont have a national debt.. they have a national wealth fund!
***
the only downside I can list is that grocery prices are 1.5 times higher.. but thats only a problem as tourist.. with 2x as high wage,. much less of income spend on morgage and taxes.. you can easely afford it and still have a much higher standard of living

norway basicly allows people in under 3 conditions

1 you are under 45 and have a bachalor or master degree in a profession their society needs
2 you are under 30 and have 2 children, and have a college degree or higher in a profession their society needs
3 you have a bankaccount of at least 1 milion euro / or 100k per year of life expentancy left.
****
if you meet these critera you get in.. if not.. forget it.
-> ofcourse a policy like this also locks out most of the immigrants from non western nations.. so while non westerners are not blocked.. I do notice 99.99% of those who do immigrate there are white too.. a large part from the better educated part of eastern european nations.. but a sizable chunk of dutch, germans and swedes too..

this does however NOT give you a norwegian passport.. it just allows you to buy a house and work there... you can apply for a norwegian passport only once per 6 years that you have worked and lived in norway without asking for any social services ever (so 6 years of being a neth contributer)
-> you will also be judged on your ability to speak the norwegian language.. if you are spotted still speaking a foreign language on the streets last years.. how you dress.. and behave.. and if you participated in the norwegian national feasts.. ->
it is common to be rejected 2 times before accepted.. even if you do all this flawlessly and assimilate from day 1.. so expect for it to take 20 years before truelly getting your norwegian passport.
***
oh and norway does NOT allow double passport.. they demand you denounce your old nationality..(if you from a nation that does not allow that you cannot move there).. you must swear to their flag..

they want people that truelly want to become norwegian.. not people who just not want to live somewhere else.

it's one of the few european nations you still see the flag on every corner.. a refresing sight,.. in the rest of europe any expession of nationalism has become taboo...

regardless of all this.. actual discrimination is MUCH lower in norway.. with less maladapted immigrants those that come are welcomed much friendlier..
I feel that the attitude against for example polish or ukraine people in the netherlands is much more negative... than in norway.
