Battle.net is such a piece of ♥♥♥♥
Bought the Warcraft 2 Remaster edition the other day, which I was hyped about. Get home from work to play... "Error, lost connection. Log back into the Battle.net and restart the client."

Do that, same error. Reboot the computer, same error. Go onto the Blizzard forums and see that everyone is experiencing this error. No one can play right now.

This is a 30 YEAR-OLD SINGLE PLAYER GAME. Why the ♥♥♥♥ do I need any online connection at all for this? This version doesn't even have multiplayer, and all the saves are offline. I get maybe activating, but why just to play!?

I'm about 50/50 whether I should just refund the game. It's pathetic that my CD-ROMs from 1995 will still work, but the brand-new game I just bought (I mean "licensed") won't.

GOG is the solution to these anti consumer practices. But I don't think their version is a remaster...

It's not, and it likely won't be for many years. Would refund and get that edition in a second if it was an option.
that's still a thing?
huh...
I would've thought they would've gotten rid of that crap by now.

I use it every day to play Overwatch with no issues.

Just keep it. There's no better way to tell Activision that it's OK to sell non-functional products.

You can't play overwatch 2 every day and not have issues
It's not a perfect game- but I have been playing since 2016 and don't really feel like learning a different awful game.

Microsoft bought them. I'm honestly surprised it hasn't all been moved to the microsoft store.

It's all on gamepass now.

I have fond memories of battle.net. But those memories are over 20 years old.

Yep, as are mine. Want to see what Battle.net is like today? Watch dunkey try to play Black Ops 6.
