My parents need convincing (Weird question)
Okay first of all I know this a weird thread but i'm looking for all the help I can get for this issue.
First of all I really want to get a good gaming pc, currently i'm playing on a laptop which at this point is unable to run most of the new games (battlefield 4, ...).
But the problem is trying to convince my parents and my mother to be more precise, she thinks that getting a gaming pc will distract me too much from school and considering i'm in my last year of high school this is very important for me.
My friend has a prebuild pc that he paid 500€ for and it is a pretty good machine.
I'm not just asking for tips to help convince my parents but also what's the best thing to do when I can convince them, build a pc myself or buy a prebuilt one. (FYI seriously i'm not that handy when it comes to building stuff :p)

Get a part time job and buy it your self. That is your best option.

I would suggest getting a pre-build one if you have never built one before.

They can't offer you more then that one day? Try and talk to them about it.

48€ doesn't sound too bad for one say or work. That is about $64 usd. If you sacrifice and save, you should be able to get it in a few months.

Trust me. It is far more satisfying to save and buy it your self, then to have others do it for you. It is also all yours so others don't have as much say in what you do with it.

You can also see if you have anything you can sell to other people. I've made $100-$200 usd (74.21€-148.42€) from a yard sale before.

The problem is that there is a legal limit that students can earn for working in the weekend, the maximum that we can earn is 8€ an hour I can work longer if I want but the problem is that I spend most of my work ducked because I have to grab stuff out of fridges and other things and after 6 hours of work my back is killing me. I can try to find other work but i'm tied to a contract until december but from what my boss is telling my parents I think she's ready to fire me.

Plus it will show your mother how determined you are, and that you took the initiative to do it yourself. She will be proud of you, and you will have the satisfaction of owning up to the situation, and that you did it yourself. No better feeling than that.

I would love to work harder but the problem is that they're bossing me around that i'm just tired and i'm glad my shift ends, every saturday is the same: cut vegetables for sandwiches, go to the market and spent the rest of the morning being yelled at for not being fast enough. I actually stayed home this saturday because I can't take it anymore.

Welcome to the real world. Here, take this. :health::balloon: You'll need it.
Honestly the only way is to deliver on the grades.
Ask for it as a graduation gift.

Or build a cheap 4 core APU system for now and ask for a nice GPU as a grad present.
Your mother has a point, playing games is going to distract you from your school work. I know you don't want to hear this, but I wouldn't get a gaming computer till summer or something. You have your whole life for games.

Then it sounds like you have no time for games anyway.

I can still find time for games but i'm regularly just drowning in homework.
Save $$$ until summer: then get a job adn make your PC (cheaper)
Being a parent myself, and having been a kid myself sooo many years ago, I see what you're going through from both sides. But we're only hearing it from your angle. I know its tough! Parents always seem to be on your case all the time, and it never seems to end. There are too many "maybe" factors here to get into, without getting into the too personal factor. Maybe they're giving you tough love, etc. Maybe they're not seeing enough return in their investment of you. (and I don't mean financial). Trying to see it from their P.O.V. isn't easy. All I can say, is invest in yourself more; knuckle down and do the work required of you. It will pay off in the long run for you, even if they never acknowledge it. I'd like to think they will. Save your money. Eventually you'll have enough to do what you want with it.
