Is upgrading 16GB RAM to 32GB worth it?
Only for gaming. And the only game I was waiting for, Hogwart Legacy, experienced a stutter due to 15.9GB of RAM usage.

So I'm thinking of upgrading the ram tomorrow, is it worth it or not?

Edit: Just upgraded yerterday (5/16/23) and still stutter :(

If you need more RAM, then, yes, it is worth it to get more RAM. :steamfacepalm:

Likewise, if you don't need more RAM, than it is not worth it to get more RAM.
just increase the swap ram if youre close to limit, you can have unlimited ram emulation on storage

Always fill the machine. Then you never have to adjust it or worry about it being a problem ever again.
You can adjust your pagefile, even eliminate it as it won't even need to swap things out of RAM anymore. Sell your 16GB to someone else who needs to fill up unless you're using those(that size) trying to reach 32GB. The right RAM might be hard to find later on so get it over with so you don't have to scramble.

that is not the same at all.
even using an SSD to do this, the response time is nothing compared to motherboard attached RAM.

If I remember right, at this point no computer needs 32GB for gaming purposes.

BUT, there are some motherboards that will actually give a speed boost if you are using 4 channels of memory (4 8GB sticks) over 2 channels of memory (2 8GB sticks)

I always buy memory that has a higher Mghz than what my motherboard can use. But, this is more for future proofing my PC. If I have 4 8GB sticks of memory that are only at 3200Mghz then upgrade my computer that can now use 4000MGhz... Well, I don't want to go out and buy new memory. So, I will look for the highest MGhz memory I can find with the lowest latency.

I have found that is a great way to buy memory.

I did not know that.

I apologize. I honestly never even bother to look at system requirements anymore as my PC can handle pretty much any game I throw at it.

Again, I am sorry for giving bad information and I thank you for educating me. :steamhappy:

Also useful if you're doing "serious" youtube-level video editing and broadcasting and gaming all at the same time.
